Bolingbrook's Pelican Harbor Closed Rest Of Thursday Due To Poor Air Quality

BOLINGBROOK, IL — Bolingbrook's Pelican Harbor Outdoor Aquatic Park will remain closed for the evening after closing earlier in the day due to poor air quality, the park district shared.

The decision was made "out of concern for the health of our residents and staff, especially those most vulnerable to poor air quality," the park district said.

The park district also canceled all its outdoor programming on Thursday, including a scheduled outdoor movie at UChicago Medicine AdventHealth Bolingbrook. The event will be rescheduled for a future date to be announced soon, the park district said.

According to AirNow, Bolingbrook's air quality was at "hazardous" levels as of 3 p.m. Thursday.
