Bolingbrook Fire Department Holds Open House

BOLINGBROOK, IL — Join the Bolingbrook Fire Department for its annual open house on Oct. 3, featuring fire trucks, vehicles, fire safety demonstrations and more.

Festivities will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Oct. 3 at Fire Station No. 4, 1111 W. Boughton Road.

"Bring the family and spend the day meeting our firefighters, exploring fire trucks and EMS vehicles, watching fire safety demonstrations, and learning about the specialized teams that help keep our community safe," the Village shared.

This year's event will also highlight battery and charging safety. Some tips from the fire department include:

• Use the charger designed for your device
• Keep electronics off beds and couches while charging
• Replace batteries that are hot, swollen, damaged or have an unusual odor
• If kids notice a problem, remind them to tell an adult right away.
