BOLINGBROOK, IL — New Bolingbrook Police Chief Sean Koren was sworn in and officially appointed at the Oct. 27 Bolingbrook Village Board meeting.
The Village told Patch that Koren has 27 years of service with Bolingbrook, and started his career in 1999 as a patrol officer and field training officer.
"Throughout his career, he has served in a variety of roles, including the Gang Tactical Unit, Metropolitan Area Narcotics Squad, Patrol Operations, and Investigations," the Village told Patch.
Koren has also served as a sergeant, lieutenant, and commander of operations. He was appointed deputy chief of police in August 2024, and has served as interim chief of police since former Chief Mike Rompa's retirement in June.
"With extensive experience in law enforcement, investigations, community engagement, and department leadership, Chief Koren brings a wealth of knowledge and a deep understanding of our community to this important role," the Village said.
