Bolingbrook resident, member of Lewis University Mock Trial team earns individual award in national invitational

With a strong finish, Lewis University’s Mock Trial “A” team earned 16th place out of 66 teams in the national invitational held at Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa. Two victories away from finishing in second place, the Lewis team was undefeated in the last two rounds.

Cassandra Myers of Huntley won Outstanding Attorney and Chezare Bingham of Bolingbrook won Outstanding Witness. Kevin Whelehan of Alsip missed earning an Outstanding Attorney award by one point. Cary Hansing of Crystal Lake and Michael Park of River Forest barely missed Outstanding Witness designation.

Lewis University’s Mock Trial “B” team competed against two top-ten teams and finished 51st at the invitational. Joshua Rehak, of DeKalb was awarded Outstanding Attorney followed closely by Sean Lenckus of Plainfield. Derek Frommel of Willowbrook and Danielle Volk of Homewood barely missed receiving Outstanding Witness awards.

Mock Trial team members include Chezare Bingham of Bolingbrook, Villus Butauskas of Burr Ridge, Derek Frommel of Willowbrook, Lena Hallaj of St. Charles, Cary Hansing of Crystal Lake, Sabrina Karakaya of Oak Lawn, Sean Lenckus of Plainfield, Cassandra Myers of Huntley, Michael Park of River Forest, Ron Jovi Ramirez of Lakemoor, Joshua Rehak of DeKalb, Victoria Strid of Lemont, Sabra Thomas of Mundelein, Julius Van Manen of Chicago, Danielle Volk of Homewood and Kevin Whelehan of Alsip.

Coaches of the team are Dr. James Houlihan, Brandi Sanders, John Senese of the Peter Francis Geraci Law Offices in Chicago and Bill Rock of Block Klukas & Manzella Law Firm in Joliet.
