Aug. 13 fundraiser helping seniors for Thanksgiving

The Levy Center seniors are excited to host a bingo fundraiser for a special cause.

Their Aug.13 bingo night will benefit the Township’s annual Thanksgiving meal giveaway for Township seniors.

DuPage Township historically provides Thanksgiving meals to residents of three senior housing facilities in the Township: Greenleaf Apartments and McKenzie Falls, both in Bolingbrook and Romeoville Gardens in Romeoville.

Faced with many budget cuts, the annual holiday meal delivery was in danger of not happening.

That’s when the DuPage Township Senior Committee and the Friends of The Levy Center and the stepped in, committing to help cover the cost of the meals.

Prizes include $125 games (six offered), $250 games (three offered) one $500 Jack Pot game. It is $30 per book with doors opening at 4:30 p.m. and games starting at 6 p.m.

The evening includes a cash bar and burgers, brats and hot dogs to purchase
