Bolingbrook Hires 3 New Police Officers

Bolingbrook is also accepting applications for entry-level police officers until February 16.

BOLINGBROOK, IL - The Bolingbrook Police Department recently added three new officers to the force over the past month. The new additions are Officer Phillip White, Officer Zack McQueen and Officer Nicholas Christopher. White and McQueen, pictured above, both graduated from the Cook County Police Academy in December. Bolingbrook has 113 sworn officer positions, and the department said Tuesday that it still intends to make additional hires over the next several weeks. Bolingbrook's Police Department is expecting to have a couple more retirements in the near future, remarked Lt. Tony Columbus.

In October, Bolingbrook's Public Safety Director Tom Ross retired then in early December Bolingbrook was stunned by the tragic death of Officer Steve Alexander, who was killed in Ireland, along with his brother and their parents during a crash with a truck.

Meanwhile, Bolingbrook's Fire and Police Board is continuing to accept applications for entry level police officers. Applications will be accepted until 5 p.m. Friday, February 16 but must be picked up in person at the Bolingbrook Town Center's finance department counter, 375 W. Briarcliff Road.
