Driving down our Bolingbrook streets this fall, I am saddened by the huge number of dying ash trees. I have already lost and removed one of my own. These stately "one legged people" as the Native Americans called them, not only provide beauty and shade, but trees take in carbon monoxide and send out oxygen. We use them for wood and paper and fuel and a million other things. There is another value too - a monetary value - which trees bring to your home and property.
Estimates vary, but from 5 - 15% of your property value is attributed to the mature trees and landscaping of your home.
