Bolingbrook HS Grad Places in Twirling Championship

Bolingbrook High School graduate Nicola Colucy, Feature Twirler for the Eastern Illinois University Panther Marching Band, placed nationally 2nd in Two Baton, 5th in Solo, 11th in X-strut, and 13th in 3 Baton at this summer’s National Collegiate Twirling Championships in South Bend.

The 20-year-old Colucy also competed in College Solo, Down the Field, Field Goal Post Toss, Signature Twirl and Collegiate WOW events along side over 70 Collegiate Twirlers from around the country.
Colucy continues to have an outstanding career, finishing runner-up in the Miss College Majorette of Illinois in May, and competing for the first time in the Miss College Majorette of America competition.

“Being part of the First ever Collegiate Spectacular Show, the AYOP BIG SHOW, and twirling with so many of my peers from all around the country was very exciting and motivating,” the EIU junior said.
Colucy is the Feature Twirler for the Color Guard unit of the EIU Panther Marching Band.
The EIU Panther Marching Band is under the new leadership of Dr. James Hile, as Assistant Director of Bands. Allison Christian is the Color Guard coach.
