Bolingbrook HS Staffers Named Pillars Of Valley View

BOLINGBROOK, IL — Two members of the Bolingbrook High School staff, Ms. Anne Stanford and Mrs. Josefina Zepeda, were honored by the Valley View School District Board of Education by being named “Pillars of Valley View” at the Sept. 25 meeting of the Board of Education.

Ms. Stanford is a Supported Education Instructional Aide at BHS. Her love for her job and desire to see all students succeed are commendable and contagious. She is known for personally taking students under her wing to guide them toward graduation by giving her lunch hours and every available minute she can find to work one-on-one with students. Special Education teacher Ms. Danielle Leonard, described her as the “best paraprofessional I have ever worked with.” Ms. Leonard added, “I hope to be as good of an educator as she is someday.”

Mrs. Zepeda is also a Supported Education Instructional Aide at BHS. She is a living example of going above and beyond. Whether Mrs. Zepeda is assisting students one-on-one, supporting world languages classes, interpreting for families or just being a supportive colleague, she is constantly searching for ways to make BHS a better place to learn for students and a better place to work for staff members. World Languages teacher Ms. Kelsey Fletcher-Brochek, said “Mrs. Zepeda is very conscious of and attentive to the needs of her students. Her knowledge and work ethic, combined with the kindness that she shows every day, make her invaluable to our department and our school.”

Ms. Stanford and Mrs. Zepeda exemplify the sentiment of “first the heart; then the mind” and both staff members have devoted a great deal of personal time and energy to the students they serve. They always have time for students and have inspired a great number of them during their careers with Bolingbrook High School.
