Bolingbrook June Home Sales Up 23%

single-family homes sales were up in June and the first half of the year, according to the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors. 

June home sales are up 23 percent over June 2011, with 64 homes sold in June 2012 compared with 52 in June 2011. Over the first six months of the year, sales were up 29.5 percent compared with the first six months of 2011. 

Average list prices were also up, with $228,818 in June 2012 over $217,405 in June 2011. List prices are up 46 percent from January, when the average list price was $156,447. 

Sale prices have also jumped dramatically from the beginning of the year. Prices are up 50 percent from January, from $149,353 to $224,457. Average sale prices are up 7 percent from June 2011. 

Average time on the market was 97 days in June, the lowest since Jan. 2010 when the average market time was 92 days. Average market time in June 2011 was 125 days. 

MORe’s region – which includes about 200 communities in DuPage, Lake, Will and suburban Cook counties – experienced significant sales gains over the past three months, according to a press release. 

In that larger region, the median home price rose 2.6 percent in Q2 from a year ago and 2.4 percent in June. Home sales grew 21 percent from 2011 for the region as a whole. 

Big gains were seen in single-family home sales in the following communties: 

• Arlington Heights (75 percent increase from June 2011)
• Carol Stream (167 percent)
• Franklin Park (82 percent)
• Lisle (250 percent)
• LaGrange Park (100 percent)
• Maywood (106 percent)
• Westchester (191 percent)
