For the 13 consecutive year, the Bolingbrook Lions Club will host a national Beep Baseball Tournament showcasing blind and sight-impaired athletes.

Teams from Colorado, Minnesota, Indiana, Ohio and Chicago are scheduled to compete in the Father’s Day weekend tournament. The tournament opens with a welcoming party cookout for the teams arriving Friday night, June 13.

Competition begins Saturday June 14, with 3 games being played each at 8:30 a.m., 11 a.m., and 2:30 p.m. at Volunteer Park, located at the northwest corner of Lily Cache and Lindsey Lanes, next to Pelican Harbor and the BRAC.

The Lions and Leos will provide an outdoor lunch on site to the players and their families. Saturday will conclude with a dinner after the games to be catered by Tailgater’s Sports Bar & Grill in Bolingbrook.

Championship games are on Sunday morning June 15 at 8 a.m., with a brief awards ceremony after.

Admission is free and all are welcome to see this game where a 16” softball has a transmitter embedded to emit a “beep” , allowing blind players to field the ball, as well as hit.

Donations are always welcome to help support this Lions in this event. The Lions are an international organization of 1.35 million members in 46,000 clubs in 204 countries.
