Bolingbrook Man Charged With Possession Of Child Pornography
Matthew Johnson, 40, was charged and taken into custody on Saturday, police said.

BOLINGBROOK, IL —A Bolingbrook man has been charged with three counts of possession of child pornography after a months-long investigation, the Bolingbrook Police said in a news release.
Matthew Johnson, 40, was charged and taken into custody on Saturday, police said. Johnson was processed and taken to the Will County Adult Detention Facility. He will appear in court on Monday.
Last month, on Nov. 15, Bolingbrook Police said it served a search warrant on Johnson's home. Bolingbrook Police detectives, working in conjunction with the Illinois Internet Crimes Against Children and the Will County State's Attorney Office High Technology Crimes Unit, were investigating the transmission of child pornography at Johnson's home.

During the investigation, police said substantial evidence was uncovered, which linked a digital footprint between Johnson's home and repeated online exchanges of sexually explicit media depicting children.
The Bolingbrook Police Raid, Entry, And Containment Team served the warrant and secured the home, police said. Bolingbrook Police Evidence Technicians along with the State's Attorney’s hidden electronic device K-9 "Cache" found several items of evidence inside the home, police said.

An arrest warrant was issued for Johnson, and he was taken into custody without incident on Saturday.
