Bolingbrook Man Fights Cops After Showing Gun: Police

Police said they learned that Anthony Brown, 47, displayed a handgun during a physical fight with two people that he knew.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — A Bolingbrook man is facing several charges after he fought and resisted officers during an incident Sunday in Bolingbrook, according to Bolingbrook Police.

At 4:50 p.m. Sunday, police responded to Woodcreek Drive for a report of a man with a gun. Police learned that Anthony Brown, 47, displayed a handgun during a physical fight with two people that he knew.

Police found Brown in the third-floor hallway of the building and saw he was armed with a handgun. Police said officers commanded Brown to drop the gun, and he complied.

As police tried to place Brown in custody, he physically fought and resisted the officers, police said. He also resisted efforts to place him in a squad car for transport.

A 9 mm handgun was recovered at the scene, police said.

Brown was booked at Bolingbrook Police Department, and then taken to the Will County Adult Detention Facility. He is facing charges of resisting arrest, aggravated assault, battery, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and armed habitual criminal.

He remains in custody, and bond has been set at $250,000 with 10 percent to apply.
