Bolingbrook Man Flashes Gun At Cops: Police

Police say officers pulled up alongside the 21-year-old in an unmarked squad car when he showed them the weapon.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — A Bolingbrook man is facing charges after he displayed a handgun in a "threatening manner," Bolingbrook Police said.

Devaughn Griffin, 21, is charged with aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon and aggravated assault from the incident.

Police told Patch that officers approached Griffin's vehicle at 11:18 p.m. on Monday while traveling eastbound near Lily Cache Lane and Woodcreek Drive to investigate a traffic violation.

As officers pulled their unmarked police vehicle alongside Griffin's vehicle, he "produced a handgun and displayed it in a threatening manner," police said.

Griffin was then stopped and taken into custody without further incident, according to police.
