Bolingbrook Man Rammed Victim's Car Multiple Times: Police

He had previously threatened the victim, according to police.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — A Bolingbrook man is accused of ramming another driver's vehicle several times in a parking lot hit and run on Saturday. Bolingbrook police said officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Bolingbrook Drive at around noon Saturday for a call of a hit and run. The victim was in a parking lot when he saw Benjamin Gonzalez-Gomez, 49, who had previously threatened him, police said.

The victim told police he tried to drive away, but was spotted by Gonzalez-Gomez, who rammed the victim's vehicle with his truck, according to Bolingbrook Police Lt. Anthony Columbus. Gonzalez-Gomez backed up his truck and proceeded to ran the victim four to five more times, police said.

Gonzalez-Gomez, of 445 Galahad Road, was gone by the time officers arrived on the scene, according to police. On Sunday, Columbus said an officer spotted Gonzalez-Gomez driving near Northridge Drive and Malibu Drive and conducted a traffic stop.

No injuries were reported in the incident, according to police.

Gonzalez-Gomez was taken into custody on a charge of aggravated battery. Police said he also had an active warrant for his arrest on a charge of aggravated assault. He was taken to the Will County jail. His bond was set at $15,000 on Monday, and he remained in custody, according to jail records.
