Bolingbrook Park District Return to Fun - Phase 4 Update

Starting July 1, community centers will open and more programs and services will be offered

In cooperation with the State of Illinois’ Restore Illinois Plan, Bolingbrook Park District has made the appropriate changes to operations in accordance to Phase 4-Revitalization. We are monitoring the progress as we move through these phases and we are prepared to adjust our operations as necessary.

Below are the details for specific areas of interest:

• Playgrounds: Playgrounds are open. Please note the following playgrounds are still under construction and are not open: Riverbend, Remington, and Indian Boundary.Please practice social distancing guidelines while you enjoy the playgrounds.

• Annerino Community Center: The Annerino Community Center will open to the public with adjusted hours beginning Wednesday, July 1. The hours of operation for the month of July are Monday-Friday 7:00 am-6:00 pm. Facility rentals will be available beginning August 1, reservation requests taken beginning July 1. Racquetball court rentals including wally ball can be reserved Monday-Friday 7:00 am-5:00 pm beginning July 1. There are no Challenge Court options at this time.

• Bolingbrook Recreation & Aquatic Complex: The Bolingbrook Recreation & Aquatic Complex will open to the public with adjusted hours beginning Wednesday, July 1. The hours of operation for the month of July are Monday-Friday 7:00 am-8:00 pm and Saturday-Sunday 7:00 am-6:00 pm. Facility rentals will be available beginning August 1, reservation requests taken beginning July 1.

• Pelican Harbor Indoor/Outdoor Aquatic Park: Pelican Harbor has indoor lap swimming only available through a reservation system. Reservations are available online. You may reserve your lane for lap swimming here.

Semi-Private Swim Lessons will begin on July 11. These lessons are limited to two swimmers with an instructor.

We have heard from the Illinois Department of Public Health about the outdoor pool! We are reviewing the guidelines for a possible opening of Pelican Harbor Outdoor Aquatic Park. Stay tuned! We will have an update no later than 5:00 pm on Tuesday, June 30th.

• LifeStyles Fitness Center (BRAC Location Only): LifeStyles Fitness Center (BRAC location) will open the fitness center floor for use of equipment on July 1 through a reservation system. Some equipment will be moved to the gymnasium to meet the social distancing requirements. General fitness center use is for 45-minute time slots, which are available online. You may reserve your fitness floor time slot here.

• Hidden Lake Historic Trout Farm: Tackle Box Bait Shop at Hidden Lakes is currently open for bait shop and Hidden Lakes fishing permit sales. Please continue to respect the social distancing guidelines by remaining six feet away from the angler next you. You can fish at Hidden Lakes Historic Trout Farm from dawn until dusk with a valid permit.

• Hidden Oaks Nature Center: Hidden Oaks will continue with suspended operations through the month of July. The community is welcome to enjoy the trails and outdoor spaces around the center. Please continue to respect the social distancing guidelines.

• Boughton Ridge Golf Course: Boughton Ridge is open, including the pro shop. We encourage online and phone reservations, however walk-ups are permitted. Foursomes are allowed with 10-minute tee time intervals. Golf carts are available for two riders with a facemask.

• Ashbury's at Boughton Ridge: Ashbury’s is open daily for patio seating and limited indoor dining from 11:00 am-8:00 pm, Please note there will be a limited menu and seating capacity. Call (630) 783-6602 for pick-up orders and information.

• Sports Fields: Sports fields are available for use but must be limited to 50 individuals (25 per team, including coaches and officials). Social distancing guidelines must be followed for other team members on sidelines. Bolingbrook Athletic Council (BAC) teams interested in using the fields must follow the BAC field use procedures. Social distancing should be practiced.
Adult Softball Leagues will begin play July 6. The registration deadline for these leagues is June 30. To register your league, call Ryan Kertson at (630) 783-6509.

• Skate Parks: All skate parks are open. Social distancing guidelines must be followed.

• Tennis/Pickleball Courts: Courts are open for singles play only (one person on each side of the court). Doubles play is not permitted during this current phase.

• Sport Courts (Basketball, Volleyball, Sand Volleyball, Roller Hockey, Racquetball, Wallyball): Sport courts are open for play. Please continue to respect the social distancing guidelines.

• Park Rentals: Park rentals are open for groups of 50 or less beginning July 1. Please respect the social distancing guidelines. Parks may be reserved at either community center starting July 1.

• Summer Programs (Dance, Gymnastics, Martial Arts, Youth, etc): Programs begin the week of July 13 with proper social distancing procedures. The summer digital guide has been updated. To view the current Summer Program Guide, click here

• Summer Day Camp: Camp Connections Day Camp will continue at the Annerino Community Center and will follow the guidelines set by Phase 4-Revitalization. This camp is similar to Camp Alotta Fun, but will not include the field trips and swimming at Pelican Harbor. Safety, as always, is top of mind. Campers will be placed in groups of no more than ten campers and one counselor to ensure we are following social distancing guidelines. This camp will be led by counselors with backgrounds in education, child development, or recreation. For more information and how to register for camp, click here.
