Bolingbrook Park District Seeking Applications For Board Vacancy

Bolingbrook Park District Board Commissioner Sue Vastalo resigned after 30 years of service.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — The Bolingbrook Park District is seeking interested residents to fill a vacancy on its Board of Commissioners, after Commissioner Sue Vastalo's resignation.

The Park District said Vastalo announced her resignation after 30 years of service to the community.

"Her dedication has been unmatched, and she will be greatly missed as a Commissioner," the park district said on its Facebook. "She will continue her volunteer work with the Northern Will County Special Recreation Association. We can't thank Sue enough for her leadership, support, and dedication."

The park district is accepting applications for this vacancy until Jan. 29. The chosen candidate will fill the remainder of the term until the next election in April 2027.

Anyone who would like to be considered for this elected, non-paid Park District Board member seat must complete an application, submit resume, and include a brief statement on why you feel you should be considered for the vacancy, the park district said.

The documents should be emailed to Jerry Hix at JHix@BolingbrookParks.org or dropped off at the Bolingbrook Park District Administration Offices at 201 Recreation Drive to Jerry’s attention by noon on Jan. 29.
