Bolingbrook Park District Welcomes New Board Commissioner
Geno Bagnuolo was appointed at the Board's February meeting. His term will continue until the next election in 2027.
BOLINGBROOK, IL — Bolingbrook Park District has welcomed Geno Bagnuolo as the newest member of the Bolingbrook Park District Board of Commissioners, the park district shared in a news release.
Bagnuolo was selected from a "highly qualified" group of candidates after an application and interview process, the park district said. He will fill the vacancy left by Commissioner Sue Vastalo’s resignation.
Bagnuolo was appointed at the Board's February meeting. His term will continue until the next election in 2027.

“Geno brings an extensive array of professional and community volunteer experience to the board. His passion for the community and the Park District was evident throughout the process. His commitment to Bolingbrook Park District’s mission made him an excellent choice,” Park Board President Jerry Hix said in a news release. “We can’t wait for Geno to join the Board and help guide our continued commitment to provide world-class park and recreation services in a fiscally responsible manner to enhance the community’s quality of life.”
Bagnuolo was born and raised in Bolingbrook where he participated in many youth sports and Park District programming, according to the news release. He received his bachelor’s degree in business management and organizational leadership from Illinois State University. He also served two terms on the Illinois State University Board of Trustees.

Bagnuolo returned to Bolingbrook in 2018 and began volunteering for several non-profit organizations and youth sports associations, including Bolingbrook Trojan Football, Bolingbrook Community Basketball, Heart Haven Outreach, Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, Bolingbrook Athletic Council, and DuPage Township Youth Subcommittee.
“I am excited to serve the community in this capacity. My years participating in recreation programming helped build a strong foundation for me. I am passionate about ensuring current and future families continue to have recreational opportunities for their children,” said Bagnuolo.
