Bolingbrook PD Busts 2 From Joliet, Plainfield For Heroin
Ryerson remains at the Will County Adult Detention Facility on a $500,000 bond.

BOLINGBROOK, IL - Authorities across Will County have made it a priority to crack down on people dealing the deadly drug of heroin. Last week, the Bolingbrook Police Department arrested two young men from Joliet and Plainfield on felony charges related to heroin dealing. Michael Ryerson, 22, of Joliet, is now being held in the Will County Jail facing a significant $500,000 bond. A codefendant, Dominic Megrant, 26, of Plainfield,was taken into custody on a $20,000 bond.
According to Bolingbrook police reports, officers made a traffic stop around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24 in the parking lot of 493 South Weber Road, which is near the Subway restaurant. "Officers identified an occupant of the vehicle as Michael Ryerson, 22 years of age, from the 3800 block of Pandola Ave, Joliet, IL. Ryerson had an active Will County warrant for his arrest," police reports indicate.
While being arrested, "Ryerson admitted to officers he was in possession of heroin. Officers located numerous baggies of heroin in Ryerson possession and in the vehicle," police reports state.

Another person inside Ryerson's car, Dominic Megrant, 26, of the 15000 block of Center Street, Plainfield, also had heroin in his possession, Bolingbrook police said.

Ryerson was charged in Will County with one felony count of manufacturing heroin and one felony count of possessing heroin. He remains in the Will County Jail unable to post his $500,000 bond.
As for his codefendant, Megrant was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance. He was given a $20,000 bond. He has posted 10 percent, allowing him to remain free while his criminal case is pending at the Will County Courthouse.
