Bolingbrook Playgrounds Reopen As IL Enters Phase 4 Amid Pandemic

The Remington, Riverbend and Indian Boundary playgrounds will be closed as they are under construction.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — Playgrounds around Bolingbrook opened to the public Friday as Illinois entered the next phase of its reopening plan amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The Bolingbrook Park District announced that in adherence to the guidelines of Phase 4 of Gov. J.B. Pritzker's Restore Illinois plan, officials are ready to welcome back children with safety guidelines in place. The release also stated that the Remington, Riverbend and Indian Boundary playgrounds will be closed as they are under construction.

Park officials had said a few weeks ago that in adherence to the Phase 3 protocols, playgrounds would remain closed. But as new directives were revealed by the governor, the district made necessary changes to its operations in the "Revitalization" phase.

Skate parks, tennis courts and courts for any other kinds of sports such as basketball and so on are also open.

Park rentals are open for groups of 50 or less beginning Wednesday. Parks may be reserved at either community center.

Since the village has a host of playgrounds to choose from, if a family feels uncomfortable with the number of people present, they can move to a different one on this list.
