Bolingbrook Police Arrest Convicted Thief At Menards Store

Andrew Hintt was arrested with an accomplice, Madeline Way, who is also charged with felony retail theft.

BOLINGBROOK, IL - If Andrew Hintt has aspirations of becoming a career criminal, he might want to give up on the crime of stealing. On October 9, the 27-year-old Hintt, along with an accomplice, Madeline Way, were both arrested by the Bolingbrook Police Department on felony charges of retail theft. On October 9, the pair were caught shoplifting more than $300 worth of tools from the Menards store in the 200 block of North Bolingbrook Drive, according to the criminal complaint.

Hintt, court records show, has a previous theft conviction from 2009 out of DeKalb County. As a result, he faces a second felony charge in connection with his most recent shoplifting arrest at the Bolingbrook Menards. "The Defendant is hereby placed on notice that it is the intent of the People of the State of Illinois to seek an enhanced Class 4 sentence based upon the defendant's prior conviction for Theft in DeKalb County," Will County court documents state. Hintt has an address in the 1000 block of West Lincoln Avenue in Freeport, Illinois. His bond has been set at $40,000 and he's been unable to come up with 10 percent of his bail to go free while awaiting his trial.

As for Madeline Way, 29, she lives in the 300 block of Hillcrest Avenue, in the Kane County village of Hampshire. However, since October 9, she has been staying in one of the cellblocks at the Will County jail in downtown Joliet. She's been unable to come up with 10 percent of her $10,000 bond.

As a condition of their bonds, Way and Hintt are both restricted from having any access whatsoever with the Menards retail stores, court files show.
