Bolingbrook Police Blotter: Meijer Repeatedly Targeted By Thieves
At one of the recent Meijer retail thefts, Bolingbrook police made an arrest.

BOLINGBROOK, IL - Here's a look at some of the recent crimes that are being investigated around the village by the Bolingbrook Police Department.
December 7
Officers responded to Meijer, 755 East Boughton Road, for a retail theft. Someone put several over the counter medications into a shopping bag and walked out the store without paying. The stolen merchandise was worth $1,110, police reports reflect.

December 8
Patrick Cleary, 29, 400 block of King Arthur Way, was charged with retail theft, resisting a peace officer and possessing drug equipment after an incident at the Meijer store at 225 North Weber Road. Go here to read the Bolingbrook Patch story regarding Patrick Cleary's arrest.

A wallet was taken from a business in the 600 block of East Boughton Road. The victim's credit card was used. Loss valued at $220.
Maxwell Harper, 22, 600 block of Cochise Circle, was charged with an in-state warrant after a police call to the 200 block of Sunshine Drive regarding someone who refused to leave the premises.
December 9
Ceres Wothe, 36, 600 block of Montrose Drive, Romeoville, was charged with two counts of DUI, speeding and driving with no insurance after a traffic stop at Boughton Road and Bolingbrook Drive at 12:29 a.m.
Tyran Cherry, 21, unit block of Pampas Court, was charged with a DUI and speeding after a traffic stop at 3:02 a.m. in the 400 block of West Boughton Road.
Officers responded to a retail theft at the Meijer store, 755 East Boughton Road. A thief had cut security cables from several electronic items and exited the store. The stolen merchandise was worth $1,070.
December 10
Someone cut the seal to a cargo trailer and stole two scooters and a hoverboard at 6:12 a.m. at the Walmart store at 200 South Bolingbrook Drive. The stolen merchandise was worth $815.
Someone got away with stealing gift cards and miscellaneous baby items by putting them into a shopping cart and walking out the Meijer store at 755 East Boughton Road at 1:08 a.m. The stolen goods were worth $162.
December 11
Paul Creghin, 48, 100 block of Julie Road, was arrested on charges of DUI and improper lane use after being stopped by police at 1:51 a.m. at Boughton Road and Joy Drive.
James Rogers, 30, of Lombard, was arrested on five outstanding warrants after being stopped by police at Boughton Road and Bolingbrook Drive at 11:30 p.m.
Luis Ugalde, 26, 300 block of Woodcreek Drive, was charged with violating a protection order after police were called to the area of Camelot Court at 11:52 p.m.
A box truck was stolen from a business lot on Gateway Court during the overnight hours. Secondly, officers dealt with a call involving criminal damage to property to a business on Gateway Court. Someone stole a key ignition and yanked out the wires from underneath the dashboard of a company vehicle.
In an unrelated call, police investigated a stolen 2003 silver Cavalier from the 700 block of Springbrook Lane.
December 12
James Odame, 19, 1300 block of Modaff Road, Naperville, was charged with reckless driving and having no insurance and Mohamed Zakee, 19, 800 block of Cloverdale Lane, Bolingbrook was charged with driving in the wrong lane, having no insurance and reckless driving. The pair were picked up after a traffic stop in the 500 block of East Boughton Road at 10:29 a.m.
