Bolingbrook Police K-9 Gets Ballistic Vest

BOLINGBROOK, IL — Bolingbrook Police Department's K-9 will get some extra protection, with the donation of a custom-fit ballistic vest.

The ballistic vest was donated to K-9 Ava by Spike's K-9 Fund, the department said. Spike's K-9 Fund is a nonprofit dedicated to providing protection to working dogs.

The lightweight vest was designed to be worn throughout Ava's entire shift, and is custom-fit to ensure she is protected at all times, the department said.

The ballistic vest campaign is funded by donations to Spike's K-9 fund.

"We cannot say thank you enough to SpikesK9fund.org for the much appreciated donation," the department said.
