Bolingbrook Police Officer Honored By American Legion
Jon Moritz has been honored by the American Legion as police officer of the year for 2022.
BOLINGBROOK, IL — Bolingbrook Police officer Jon Moritz has been honored by the American Legion as police officer of the year for 2022.
Moritz was presented an award by American Legion Post 1288 Junior Vice Commander Eric Morris at Tuesday's Bolingbrook Village Board meeting.
Morris said Moritz was presented the award on behalf of the American Legion Safety, Law and Order Committee at the state-wide 104th convention in July.

Morris said Moritz received the award due to "[his] devotion to duty, involvement in your community and love of country."
"I would just like to thank the Post for the nomination," Moritz said.

As a winner at the state level for the award, Moritz will also be considered for awards at the national level for the American Legion.
