Bolingbrook Police Run Virtual 5K To Raise Awareness For Abuse

Open to the public, the run or walk can take place from Sept. 13- 16 and can be completed anywhere.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — In an effort to raise awareness about abuse, the Bolingbrook Police Department is completing a virtual 5K Run/Walk Fundraiser starting Monday. The public can join in on the fundraiser next week as well.

The police department is teaming up with Citizens Against Abuse for the endeavor, which will last until Sept. 16. The fundraiser will fund scholarships for high school seniors and abuse survivors and aims to "bring an end to all forms of abuse," according to a news release.

Registration for the event, which includes a t-shirt and is open to the public, is $25 for adults and $10 for children. During the event's four days, participants can run or walk at the Roger C. Claar Performing Arts Center, 375 W. Briarcliff Road, or anywhere else.
