Bolingbrook Residents Featured In Play At Theatre Of Western Springs
"Dial M For Murder" begins Sept. 7 at the Western Springs theater.
BOLINGBROOK, IL — Two Bolingbrook residents are part of the cast of the Theatre of Western Springs 95th season opener, "Dial M For Murder" by Frederick Knott. John Archer will play Inspector Hubbard, and Edward MacLennan will play Captain Lesgate in the production, which opens on Sept. 7.
The production runs through Sept. 17 in the Nancy and Lou Schauer Auditorium at the Theatre of Western Springs, 4384 Hampton Ave., Western Springs.
“Dial M For Murder” debuted 71 years ago as a 90-minute BBC television special, according to a release from the theatre. It became a long-running stage hit on both the West End and on Broadway. Alfred Hitchcock made a film version starring Grace Kelly and Ray Milland. TWS first
presented the play in 1956.

“This play is a lovely theater nugget set in a by-gone era, one that may seem to have
been a simpler time,” Director Suzanne Nyhan said in a release. “But as the saying goes, ‘The more things change, the more they stay the same.’ People are still motivated by trust, love, fear,
and/or greed. The nostalgic setting of “Dial M” adds a touch of romance to a very
human story, one with intriguing twists.”
Tickets are $28 for all performances; $15 for students aged 18 and under. Call the box
office at 708-246-3380 and/or visit the website.
