Bolingbrook School Briefly Evacuated After Gas Smell

Children returned to class shortly after 10 a.m.

Oak View Elementary School in Bolingbrook was evacuated briefly this morning as a precaution when a gas smell was discovered while a plumber was working on a clogged drain, according to Valley View School District Spokesperson Larry Randa.

To be safe, the fire department was called and they determined it was methane (sewer) gas from the drain. Children returned to class shortly after 10 a.m.
