Bolingbrook School Raises $2K for Needy Families
The money was used to purchase winter coats, toys, books, gift cards to local grocery stores and other items for families.

More than a dozen families at Humphrey Middle School will enjoy brighter holidays and additional support in months to come thanks to the annual Humphrey Helping Hands program.

With 7th grade social studies teacher Claudine Sharko continuing to head up the campaign, Humphrey students, staff and local businesses contributed $2,081 during the three-week fundraising effort. The money was used to purchase winter coats, toys, books, gift cards to local grocery stores and other items for families.
Elves who assisted this year were Judy Elmore, Sandi Saracco, Bridget James, Heather Eck, Mary Kuliavas, Kathy Fritz, Kelly Williams, Kathy Walsh, Rebecca Mayer, Harold Fair, Nicole Olson and Jeanne Rodenkirch.

Community partners who contributed to the success included St. Benedict’s Church- Bolingbrook, Tish Sanborn (Bolingbrook High School), Sony, Random Acts of Kindness, I-Pic, Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital, Costco, American Legion Bolingbrook Post 1288, Bolingbrook Golf Club, Aloft Bolingbrook, Joliet Slammers, Michael Ramirez- CPA and 3vue, LLC.
