BOLINGBROOK, IL — Valley View School District 365U officials have determined that two more VVSD students registered perfect scores on the ELA (English/Language Arts) portion of last year’s PARCC assessment.
Bolingbrook High School freshman Jasmine Saenz accomplished the difficult task when she was an 8th grader at Humphrey Middle School, while Jonas Salk Elementary School fourth grader Victoria Borbely was perfect when she took the assessment as a third grader.

“Jasmine getting a perfect score does not surprise me,” said Cindy Villalobos, her eighth grade language arts teacher and coach of the Humphrey cheerleading squad that included Saenz. “In my 15 years, she is the most gifted student I have ever taught. Jasmine was never content getting an answer wrong unless she understood why she got it wrong,”
Villalobos recalled an old saying that she feels applies to Sanez: “There is no elevator to success. You have to take the stairs.”

“She never took the easy route even though she could have. She always took the stairs,” Villalobos said. “I am proud to say I had her as a student and am excited to see where life takes her.”
Last year was Victoria’s first year in Jonas Salk’s Challenge Program.
“She was a student who took her time and sought out a perfect paper,” said Victoria Razmilovic, her third grade teacher. “She was determined to know the correct answer and would persevere through every problem.”
Razmilovic recalled that Borbelly, who speaks fluent Polish, took great pride in her work and always sought out the correct answer when she was wrong.
“I’m excited that one of my former students took her time and knowledge and performed above and beyond the test,” Razmilovic said. “I feel honored knowing that all of my hard work and dedication to students paid off.”
