Bolingbrook Trail Project Planned In Forest Preserve's 2024 Budget
The preserve's budget, which was approved earlier this month, includes plans for several projects across Will County.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — The Forest Preserve District of Will County's Board of Commissioners approved a balance 2024 budget earlier this month, which will include a project in the Bolingbrook area, according to a news release.
The 2024 budget includes an estimated 6.86 percent drop in the property tax rate and funding for many improvement projects throughout the District, including trail connections, additional preserve amenities and restoration work, the preserve said.
“The 2024 budget reduces the Forest Preserve’s overall tax rate while still delivering the high-quality programs that visitors have come to expect and enjoy,” Ralph Schultz, the District’s executive director said in a release. “And the 2024 budget will allow the Forest Preserve to maintain and enhance its facilities, trails and preserves.”

In Bolingbrook, 2024 will bring a new connection off of the DuPage River Trail, according to the preserve. Phase one engineering on the Weber Road connection will begin to remove a gap within the existing trail.
