BOLINGBROOK UNITED SLATE FILES PETITION FOR APRIL 6th MUNICIPAL
The candidates completed their nomination petitions for all open seats

BOLINGBROOK, IL –Bolingbrook United has officially filed their petition to run a slate of candidates in the April 6, 2021 Consolidated Election. This is the slate’s second run to compete for the mayoral and clerk seats, and third time running a slate of trustee candidates. Bolingbrook United was first formed in 2016, and for the first time in Bolingbrook’s history offered the community a full-slate alternative to the 30-year establishment running Bolingbrook. The 2017 elections drew in the highest voter turnout for it’s municipal election, with the mayoral and clerk incumbents winning by narrow margins. Long-time mayor Roger Claar won by a slim 150 votes and village clerk Carol Penning won by an even tighter 24 votes to Bolingbrook United’s candidates. Bolingbrook United gave the establishment party a run for its money in 2017, and intends to finish what it started in 2017 with a strong win for the slate in 2021.
With the retirements of both the mayor and village clerk in 2020, the community is anticipating residents will have a number of candidates to consider for mayor, village clerk and three open trustees seats. Bolingbrook United reminds voters that they are the slate that pioneered a movement to offer Bolingbrook new candidates with fresh perspectives to lead its local government, and bravely broke ground to create a pathway of change for the community. The Bolingbrook United candidates will continue to blaze the trail alongside its residents to ensure local government is run with community input, transparency and inclusion of its diverse residents.
