My Neighbors' Beautiful Christmas Decorations
A Winter Wonderland of Christmas lights decorate a beautiful Bolingbrook home on Fleetwood Avenue.
We have the best view out our front window.
No matter what the season, Al and Marilyn Smith have a beautiful yard. And this year, their decorations and Christmas lights are no exception. They spend months in the planning stages and weeks setting everything up.
Marilyn creates groupings based on different themes for each section of their front yard and Al follows her vision as he hangs the various lights and stages his large hand-crafted decorations.

This year, there's a deer family grazing near a festive upright toboggan. The scene is anchored by a sheltered wooden bench with a frosted glass pane back. Marilyn's favorite bear, carved from a tree trunk, stands guard at her front door greeting her guests dressed in his finest holiday garb. Near their drive is a family of brightly lit snowmen, looking as if they're ready to break into singing a carol or two.
I've never seen the same winter wonderland twice in the many years that Al and Marilyn have lived across the street from us.

When you drive by you want to stop. There are so many interesting, well-lit decorations, it takes a few moments to take in the whole scene.
These are not the over-the-top Christmas decorations that made the Griswald family famous. These are truly tastefully done Christmas lights and decorations done with an artistic flair.
You can't miss the Smith house, it's on Fleetwood Avenue, which is a short street between Ashbury and Cedarwood. Don't wait too long—Al carefully begins to take it all down, as soon as the holiday is over.
Thanks Al and Marilyn for sharing another gorgeous Christmas scene with your neighbors on Fleetwood Avenue.
