Now What?

So, last week was Easter. Now what? Here's a radical idea... go back!

So, last week was Easter. Churches all over the Bolingbrook area were packed with people, young and old, regular attenders and those who, well, let’s just say they enjoyed the Christmas service a few months back, and are really looking forward to being at the next one in about 9 months. Kids were wearing their new outfits, the ladies arrived with their finest clothes, and the guys, they were there too, and most of them showered!

Let me encourage those of you who don’t have a regular church home with a totally crazy idea: go back this Sunday! You don’t have to get all dressed up again with your Easter bonnet (especially if you are a 40 year old man). You don’t even have to go out to brunch with your family after the service again (unless it’s Mother’s Day, and then, well, you totally have to go out to brunch with your family after the service again). Just show up.

I'm going to let you in on an “industry” secret: the week after Easter is usually when churches begin a new season of teaching, or start new programs. In fact, at New Song Church, we’ll be starting a 9-week series called Q&A – What the Bible says about _______. The topics were suggested and then voted on by New Songers, and can be found on our website at www.newsong-church.com.

But New Song is far from the only game in town. I know of a number of churches in our community who would love to have you check them out. They have the same desire New Song does – to help the people of Bolingbrook know the God of the Bible, and to see those people become passionate followers of Jesus Christ. Check them out.
