Struggling with Dinner
What's for dinner? The question on everyone's mind...especially when I forgot to take something out of the freezer. How do you meal plan?
How do you decide what's for dinner? Do you make a weekly plan? And if you do, do you do it as a family? Or do you just go day to day deciding what to fix from what's on hand? I have never been one to plan a week's worth of meals out in advance. It probably doesn't help that I have one who is pickier about food. She is not a fan of beef, unless it is in the form of a burger or meatloaf. Some of the rest of us are taco fans, but I hate having to prepare a different meal for her when we have them.
On a recent shopping trip my daughter noticed a notepad meant for meal planning. She suggested, very kindly, that maybe I should pick one up that way I wouldn't stare at the refrigerator at dinner time and ask what should we eat. I have to say, that notepad came in very handy the first week we implemented it, as I came down with the flu and my husband was left in charge for dinner. He was relieved that the girls and I had made a plan for the week and everything was spelled out right there for him. That was back in Mid-March. We have used it once since then.
I am thinking that with summer coming it would be a good time to try to be more regular with it. Maybe we will find more time to plan a weeks worth of dinner and get in the habit for when school starts back up.

If you have a favorite meal plan or even a recipe you'd like to share, I'd love to hear them. I really am tired of the same old stuff week after week!
