Unknown Angels in Disguise — That's the Scratch!

Good day my friends.

I come to you once again with a story to share. Like so many others out there, my human companions have been looking for work for a very long time now.  Due to no fault of their own, they find themselves unemployed and struggling to get by. 

And so often in this world we see only the negative things portrayed on the news. And then every once in a while, the goodness of others shines like a beacon for all to see.

Sometimes it is an anonymous individual who steps out into the light to bless someone in need. You see, that is what happened to my human companions on Sunday evening.

A buzz was heard on the intercom of our residence. A pleasant sounding woman had rung the buzzer looking for my human companions. She stated she had a package for them. So, I rang the buzzer for her to enter the building.

I met this pleasant stranger at the top of the stairs and she handed me an envelope stating, “This delivery is from a mutual friend, she asked me to drop this off for you.”

I thanked her for her kindness in stopping by and I inquired who this friend might be. She simply stated that it was a mutual friend from our area. She then smiled as I said thank you and just as quickly she was gone.

I returned to our apartment handing over the delivery to my human companions. They seemed puzzled as they were not expecting a package. As they opened the envelope, they were astounded to find an unsigned card along with some gifts that would provide for some of their needs this month.

Astounded, my human companions began to cry at this individual’s generosity. I am once again amazed at the kindness of human beings.

We all go through times of struggle. We all have times where you cannot see the light at the end of the tunnel. And then it is through a random act of kindness where the light of humanity once again becomes brighter. And while my human companions still struggle to find employment to keep a roof over their heads, as so many others are going through right now, it warms the soul to know that there are individuals out there who still reach out to help with no desire to claim any glory for their own. It makes those dark days a little brighter to know that there are indeed “angels” in disguise on this earth. Individuals who do not realize how deeply their gifts of generosity and kindness truly reach. 

Well, this is our thank you to those unknown heroes out there. Your love and kindness will not go unnoticed and will be paid forward.

Thank you for thinking of others and for helping in our time of need. May we all follow your example of grace and kindness. Because we all need help in our lives at one time or another, and knowing that there are individuals like you out there, makes the journey a little easier.

So it is with deep heartfelt gratitude and humility that we thank you for being angels in disguise and for teaching others how to fly. Truly, a chicken’s dream come true.
