Burglar At Muffler Shop Tried, Failed To Steal Van: Police
Bolingbrook police found blood on an entrance door and say they tracked down the juvenile culprit Tuesday.
BOLINGBROOK, IL — A minor broke into Amerimex Mufflers and Brakes early Tuesday morning and attempted to steal a van from the parking lot before leaving the scene, Bolingbrook police said.
Officers responded to the muffler shop, at 213 S. Bolingbrook Drive, around 12:10 a.m. Tuesday after a burglar alarm went off. When they got there, they noticed blood on the entrance door and a broken window, but no one was in the building.
Police said they reviewed the security footage and saw someone wearing a jean jacket and ski mask break the window with a brick to get inside. The person appeared to grab a set of keys and unsuccessfully tried to steal a van from the parking lot before leaving on foot, according to officials.
