Residents can bring their pets to the Animal Control building, 145 Royce Road, from 1 to 4 p.m. on Aug. 15.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — Bolingbrook Police Department will hold a "check the chip day" on Tuesday, for pet owners who wish to have their pets checked for any existing microchips.

Residents can bring their pets to the Animal Control building, 145 Royce Road, from 1 to 4 p.m. on Aug. 15.

If a chip is located, officers will assist residents in contacting the microchip company to ensure that their pet's information is up-to-date, the department said. If no chip is located, then officers will provide information for owners to obtain one for their pet.
