Chicago Man Charged With Four Counts Of Burglary In Bolingbrook: Cops

BOLINGBROOK, IL — A Chicago man has been charged with four counts of burglary after multiple businesses were burglarized Wednesday, according to Bolingbrook Police.

Christian Dye, 27, of Chicago, was also charged with possession of burglary tools and obstructing a peace officer.

Police said officers responded to 551 S. Bolingbrook Drive at 5:30 a.m. Wednesday for a burglary in progress. A man in a blue hoodie was seen attempting to break into the building with a screwdriver, police said.

When officers arrived, a man, who matched the description of the suspect, was located in the area, according to police. The man, now identified as Dye, tried to flee, but was detained a short time later, police said.

Dye was positively identified and was found to be in possession of a screwdriver, police said. Officers canvassed the area and found that multiple businesses had been burglarized, according to police.

After further investigation and consultation with the Will County State's Attorney Office, Dye was charged and transported to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.
