ComEd, Bolingbrook Mayor Present Candy Company with Incentive to Become More Energy Efficient

On Jan. 8, ComEd, joined by Bolingbrook Mayor Roger Claar, presented Ferrara Candy Company with a financial incentive check totaling $342,584.22.

The amount helped the candy company to install an energy management system and replace lighting and occupancy sensors with more energy-efficient ones. As a result, the company will save 3,409,821 kWh of energy, or the equivalent of powering nearly 215 homes with electricity for a year.

Ferrara recently relocated to the former Home Depot distribution facility in Bolingbrook. The company makes candies including Lemonheads, Red Hots, Fruit Stripe gum and Black Forest gummy bears, to name a few.
