Contaminated Fuel Sold at Bolingbrook Meijer

Customers who bought diesel fuel may have some unleaded gasoline mixed in.

Customers that purchased diesel fuel at the East Boughton Road Meijer in Bolingbrook may have some unleaded gas mixed in.

According to a report from The Daily-Herald, a supplier accidentally put unleaded fuel in the underground diesel tank.

The tank already was more than 50 percent full. Diesel is heavier than unleaded and sinks to the bottom of the tank. When drivers fill up their cars, the pumps draw from the bottom of the tank, so “there’s a very good chance people have not even been affected,” Meijer Spokesman Frank Guglielmi said.
