Cops: Man Stole Monster Energy Drinks, Red Bull At Meijer
Defendant Marcus Vance is also a convicted thief, having a 2008 theft conviction in Will County.

BOLINGBROOK, IL - Felony charges of retail theft were filed this past week against Marcus Vance, a convicted thief, in connection with a theft at the Bolingbrook Meijer store on Weber Road. According to Bolingbrook Police reports, patrol officers saw a white Honda pull out of the Meijer at 225 North Weber Road at a high-rate of speed and blow a stop sign around noon on Dec. 20. The officer activated his sirens and pulled over the motorist. It was Vance, a 32-year-old Aurora resident. Inside of Vance's car, Bolingbrook police noticed several cases of Monster Energy drinks as well as cases of Red Bull.
When officers inspected the license plates for Vance's auto, it was determined that Vance had covered the real plates for the car with another set of plates, police reports show. Bolingbrook officers eventually figured out the cases of Monster Energy drinks plus the Red Bull were stolen by Vance from the Meijer store, police reports state. Vance was charged with retail theft, disobeying a stop sign, having no proof insurance and improper vehicle registration. However, Vance was not hauled off to the Will County Jail. Instead, he was released on bond, police reports show.
Court records indicate the defendant was previously convicted in Will County of committing a retail theft back in 2008. "Defendant is placed on notice that it is the intention of the people of the state of Illinois to seek an enhanced Class 4 felony sentence based on defendant's prior conviction for retail theft in Will County," court documents indicate.
