Pedestrian Killed On I-55 In Bolingbrook: Coroner
According to Illinois State Police, the man was walking across the southbound lanes of I-55 for unknown reasons.
BOLINGBROOK, IL — A pedestrian was killed after he was struck by a vehicle on Interstate 55 near Weber Road in Bolingbrook on Thursday, according to the Will County Coroner's Office. The 37-year-old man was pronounced deceased at 8:09 p.m. Thursday, the coroner's office said. His identity has not been released, pending family notification.
According to Illinois State Police, the man was walking across the southbound lanes of I-55 for unknown reasons. Two cars were traveling southbound in the left lane, and one of the cars struck the pedestrian, and then the second car struck the first car, police said.
I-55 southbound at Route 53 and the left two lanes at the scene were closed for the investigation, police said. All lanes reopened at 8:58 p.m. Thursday.
