Dennis Raga Gets DUI In Bolingbrook: Police Blotter

The defendant is a DuPage Township Board member involved in March's controversial firing of Linda Youngs.

BOLINGBROOK, IL - An elected official in Bolingbrook was arrested last week on suspicion of drunken driving. Bolingbrook Police officers arrested Dennis Raga, 45, who lives in the unit block of Derbyshire Court. According to police, Raga was charged with drunken driving following a traffic stop at 12:33 a.m. early Thursday morning in the 500 block of Remington Boulevard.

According to his bio, Raga has lived in DuPage Township since 2006. He once served as a Summit firefighter from 1990 until 1997 and as a Summit police officer from 1994 through 1997. He was appointed to the DuPage Township Board in December 2016 and last month, Raga voted with the 3-2 majority in the controversial firing of long-time DuPage Township employee Linda Youngs. As a result of that decision, a lawsuit has been filed against Raga and the other board members accusing them of intentionally violating the Open Meetings Act.

Raga's DUI arrest was not the only incident investigated by Bolingbrook Police last week. Here's a look at other incidents across the growing village of 76,000.
