Diaper Bandits Rip Off Meijer Big Time: Police Blotter

It's time for your look at some of the police activity around Bolingbrook.

BOLINGBROOK, IL - The following information was provided to Patch by the Bolingbrook Police Department. It concerns recent criminal activity investigated by Bolingbrook Police so far this month.

Oct. 3

Jeremy Nondorf, 39, was charged with a liquor ordinance violation and resisting a peace officer, following a call to the 100 block of N. Bolingbrook Drive.

Oct. 5

  • Gerardo Acosta, 22, 5649 S. Richmond St., Chicago, was charged with improper lane usage, illegal transportation of alcohol and DUI, following a traffic stop at Rt. 53 & Justamere Rd. at 2:53 a.m.
  • A secured bicycle was taken from the 300 block of Blair Ln. Witnesses saw the thief break the lock and drive off. Loss valued at $100.

  • Dephentril Cunningham, 37, 3415 83rd St., Woodridge, was charged with obstructing identification and an in-state warrant, following a patrol stop on the 1300 block of Hassert Blvd. at 1:27 p.m.
  • A 17-year-old was charged with an in-state warrant on the 100 block of Oxford Rd. at 6:08 p.m.
  • Ismael Gomez-Ramirez, 41, 400 Greentree Ln., was charged with aggravated domestic battery, following a call to the residence at 4:05 a.m.

Oct. 7

Christopher Walker, 47, 10247 S Hoxie St., Chicago, was charged with an in-state warrant, following a patrol stop on the 100 block of Grady Dr. at 12:33 a.m.

Oct. 8

  • A Nissan Altima was taken when the victim went inside a business on the 100 block of E. Boughton Rd. at 3:14 a.m. The victim left the car running. The vehicle was later located in Chicago.
  • A vehicle parked in a driveway on the 1100 block of Collingwood Ln. was rummaged through sometime overnight.
  • Officers were called to Meijer, 225 N. Weber Rd., for the report of a retail theft. The thieves selected numerous cans of baby formula and diapers, then exited the store without rendering payment at 7:43 a.m. Loss valued at $2,400.

Oct. 10

  • Joe Shorter Jr., 21, 3601 S. Lake Park Ave., Chicago, was charged with theft after removing US currency from a locker at a business on the 1200 block of 115th St.
  • Ryan Stockman, 28, 144 Blackberry Ln., was charged with an in-state warrant on the 300 block of W. Briarcliff Rd. at 9:35 a.m. (18-4783)
  • A backpack was taken from a business breakroom on the 800 block of S. Weber Rd. at 5:45 a.m.
  • A vehicle parked on the 300 block of Pheasant Chase Drive was rummaged through sometime overnight. Misc. music CDs were taken.
  • Elton Dorsey, 22, 302 Broadview St., Joliet, was charged with an in-state warrant, following a patrol stop at 5:15 p.m.
