Driver With Open Beer Had Revoked License: Bolingbrook Cops
This Joliet man was arrested early Tuesday morning by members of Bolingbrook's Police force.

BOLINGBROOK, IL - A 30-year-old Joliet resident found himself arrested early Tuesday morning by members of the Bolingbrook Police Department on charges of drunken driving and driving without a license. Police say Alan Cortazar was intoxicated, had an open can of beer in his car and that his driver's license was already revoked for a drunken driving conviction.
According to Bolingbrook authorities, officers spotted a car headed north on Bolingbrook Drive at Lily Cache around 12:30 a.m. Police say the car turned west onto Lily Cache disobeying the red light. At that point, officers pulled over Cortazar, a 30-year-old Joliet resident who lives in the 300 block of the Woodcreek Apartments.
Officers say they realized Cortazar’s driver’s license was revoked for driving under the influence of alcohol. Police said there were "obvious signs that Cortazar was intoxicated. Cortazar was taken into custody and Officers located an open can of beer in the vehicle."

At the Bolingbrook Police station, Cortazar was processed and he underwent field sobriety testing, indicating Cortazar was intoxicated, police said.
Cortazar was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol, driving on a revoked license, illegal transportation of alcohol, disobeying a traffic signal, and operation of an uninsured motor vehicle.

As of Tuesday night, he remained in the Will County Jail where his bail was set at $20,000.
