Drop Off Unused Prescription Drugs Saturday At Bolingbrook PD
National Prescription Drug Take Back Day will be held on Saturday at the police department.
BOLINGBROOK, IL — National Prescription Drug Take Back Day will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Bolingbrook Police Department, 375 W. Briarcliff Road.
Expired or unused medications can be a public safety issue, as unused drugs are sometimes flushed down the toilet, contaminating groundwater. Medications thrown in the trash could cause accidental ingestion by young children, pets or wildlife, according to the police department.
The drug take back day allows for the collection of expired or unused medications at the police department, so police can safely dispose of the drugs.

Accepted items include: expired prescription drugs, unwanted/unused prescription drugs, over-the-counter drugs, syrups, ointments, creams, patches and vitamins.
Items not accepted include: syringes and sharps, injectable drugs, intravenous solutions, illicit drugs, oxygen containers, pressurized canisters and medical equipment.
