Drug Dealer Had Loaded Gun: Bolingbrook Police

Bolingbrook Police say they stopped Hill on New Year's Eve.

BOLINGBROOK, IL -A 27-year-old man from Chicago was zapped with a police Taser last week after he tried to get away from Bolingbrook Police as they were attempting to arrest him on suspicion of dealing drugs, according to police. Afterward, the officers found a loaded handgun inside the car of criminal defendant Ronald Hill, police reports show.

According to Bolingbrook Police, officers spotted an apparent drug deal taking place at a parking lot in the 200 block of South East Frontage Road, on New Year's Eve, shortly before 9 p.m.

"Officers observed the offender enter a vehicle and drive from the scene. A check by officers indicated the registered owner of the car, Ronald Hill, 27 years of age, from the 4300 block of W 21st Street, Chicago, had his driver's license suspended and also had an active warrant for his arrest," reports indicate.

After Bolingbrook Police officers pulled over the car, Hill was ordered to exit which he did, police said. But then as the police told Hill he was being put under arrest, reports state, "Hill pulled away from officers and fled on foot."

Hill, however, was not able to outrun Bolingbrook Police, reports show.

"Officers caught up to Hill and Hill turned toward officers, clenching his fists and taking a fighting stance. Officers deployed a Taser and Hill was taken into custody," police said.

Next, the officers searched Hill's car, and they found marijuana that was packaged for sale, and they found a loaded handgun, police said.

Hill is being incarcerated at the Will County Jail, where his total bail adds up to $253,500.

He has been charged in Will County with:

  • Unlawful Use of a Weapon by a Felon
  • Armed violence
  • Delivery of cannabis
  • Aggravated assault
  • Resisting a police officer
  • No FOID card
  • Driving on a suspended license.

He has been in the county jail since 2:35 a.m. on New Year's Day.
