Drunk Driver Pretends He's Boxer Oscar De La Hoya: Cops
The defendant was arrested by Bolingbrook Police and taken to Will County's Jail.

BOLINGBROOK, IL - A 25-year-old man who resides in Cicero was stopped by Bolingbrook Police officers over the weekend on charges of suspected drunken driving. But village police were initially led to believe that the man behind the wheel was a famous boxer. The driver identified himself as Oscar De La Hoya, police reports show. However, the driver's real name, Bolingbrook Police determined, was Frank Delahoya. Patrol officers pulled over the suspected drunken motorist around 3:25 a.m. Saturday at Boughton and Pinecrest Roads "after they observed an improper lane violation," reports state.
"The driver's eyes were red and bloodshot, and the driver's speech was slurred. The driver initially identified himself as Oscar Delahoya," police reports show.
Bolingbrook Police made the driver get out of his car. He performed a number of field sobriety tests "and it was determined the driver was impaired due to alcohol," reports indicate.

After being taken into police custody, officers realized this wasn't really Oscar De La Hoya, this was Frank Delahoya, reports state.
"Upon searching the offender, officers located a passport in his pocket. The driver was identified as Frank Delahoya, not Oscar. Delahoya is 25 years of age and resides in the 1900 block of S. 57th, Cicero, IL. It was also determined that Delahoya's driving privileges were revoked for a prior driving under the influence of alcohol charge," Bolingbrook Police said.
