Unfounded Bomb Threat Reported At Fountaindale Library: Police
Police said the investigation found no substantiated threat, and the incident is similar to others reported at libraries this week.
BOLINGBROOK, IL — The Fountaindale Public Library was evacuated Thursday for a report of a bomb threat, Bolingbrook Police said. The report was found to be unfounded.
At 1:52 p.m. Thursday, officers responded to the library, at 300 W. Briarcliff Road, after staff reported receiving a message through an online chat service. The messaged stated, "There is a bomb."
Police said the library was evacuated, and nearby schools were placed on a soft lockdown, where the buildings were, but classes remained in session, police said.

"The investigation into the threatening message found no substantiated threat," police said. "This incident mirrors incidents that have disrupted library services throughout the Chicagoland area this week."
Schools were taken out of the soft lockdown status at 2:40 p.m. on Thursday, and the library was preparing to reopen.

This incident remains under investigation and the Bolingbrook Police Department will be working in conjunction with agencies throughout the state to identify all involved parties.
