'A Mid-Summer's Knight Read Lock-In' at Library

The library will host a Renaissance Fair family lock-in featuring juggling, games, snacks and more.

The Chicago Swordplay Guild will exhibit a live medieval weapons demo. There will be an emcee who is a serious historian. Attendees will learn the history of the spear, the medieval longsword, early Renaissance arming sword, and the Renaissance rapier. There will be demonstrations of each weapon.

A mystical labyrinth will also be available for tours.

The event will also feature a costume contest.

The event is for children ages five and up. No adults will be permitted without children. Children fifth grade and younger must be accompanied by an adult.
